Last night was epic. Barca fans sat through 90mins of pure torture. On a
night that will go down in the history books, they were absolutely
outgunned by a rampant PSG side that could easily have scored more than
four.
Their famous MSN attack could do nothing to salvage the situation, an
away goal could have done plenty to help their cause but they couldn't
even manage that.
It looks very much like the darlings of Europe are out of the competition and the Parisians have history on their side.
Never in the history of the Champions League has a side overturned a 4
goal deficit. With Messi and co however, impossible is nothing.
Do you guys think they can perform the ultimate miracle and make it through?

Charles Oakley Arrest: Why Was a Basketball Legend Dragged Out of the Arena in Handcuffs?
The New York Knicks, one of the more storied franchises in the history of the NBA, are in the midst of a season defined more by dysfunction than dominance on the basketball court.
Case in point: on Wednesday night, Charles Oakley, one of the most iconic players of the team's 1990s golden era, was escorted out a game, cuffed and arrested after an alleged altercation with security at the team's stomping grounds, Madison Square Garden.
"It was a bit hard to tell but people heard him yelling something about [Knicks owner James Dolan] in the tunnel. Can't tell what," Ian Schafer, who witnessed and filmed the incident, told NBC News. "It didn't look like he did anything to provoke this, but several security guards approached him and things escalated from there."
Although official accounts of who started the scuffle differ, the fact that it took place right behind the Knicks' lightning rod of an owner did not sit well with fans and friends of the former NBA star.
Nicknamed the "Chairman of the Boards" for his tireless rebounding, Oakley in his day was known for his heart and energy.
"Oakley was all hustle and muscle for the 1990s Knicks in his ten years with the franchise. With some flashier players around him, Oakley's non-stop motor and nastiness under the basket — and the fact that he always stuck up for his teammates in a scrum (more on that in a minute) — was one of the key things that made the Knicks contenders, especially with hard-nosed Pat Riley at the helm," wrote Charles Curtis in USA Today. "If there was a basketball equivalent of a hockey enforcer, he was it."
"What does this all mean after Wednesday? For New Yorkers, it's doubly sad to see a legend who gave everything he had to the franchise involved in something like this," he added.
Oakley is reported to have blamed his ejection
and arrest (he was charged with three counts of third-degree assault and
one count of criminal trespass, according to the NYPD) on Dolan, who he
has feuded with over the years.
Ironically, Oakley, who became a beloved fan favorite for his dogged style of play, saw his 10-year tenure with the Knicks come to an end one year after Dolan took over the reins twenty years ago.
"I was there for four minutes," Oakley told the New York Daily News, after being released from police custody. "I didn't say anything to him. I swear on my mother. They came over and wanted to know why I was sitting there. I bought the ticket. I said why do you guys keep staring at me. Then they asked me to leave. And I said I'm not leaving."
Meanwhile, the Knicks released their own statement painting a very different picture of what took place: "Charles Oakley came to the game tonight and behaved in a highly inappropriate and completely abusive manner. He has been ejected and is currently being arrested by the New York City Police Department. He was a great Knick, and we hope he gets some help soon."
Later on Thursday, the Knicks updated their
statement: "There are dozens of security staff, employees and NYPD that
witnessed Oakley's abusive behavior. It started when he entered the
building and continued until he was arrested and left the building.
Every single statement we have received is consistent in describing his
actions. Everything he said since the incident is pure fiction."
What is not pure fiction is the fact that since 1997, the Knicks have made just one NBA Finals appearance in 1999 and otherwise have mostly been plagued by years of futility. Dolan has been routinely blamed for bad hires, trades and investments. He has been branded one of the "worst owners in sports" and a "troll."
Dolan even once upbraided an elderly Knicks fan who criticized his decision-making, by telling them in a letter to "start rooting for the Nets because the Knicks don't want you." He also once called the disgruntled fan a "sad person" and an "alcoholic maybe."
Still, prior to Wednesday, much of the current drama and tabloid headlines surrounding the team were more focused the fractured public relationship between their president, 11-time NBA champion coach and former Knick Phil Jackson, and star player Carmelo Anthony.
Jackson and Anthony have been engaged in a season-long Cold War, trading some not-so-thinly veiled barbs in the press, and increasing speculation that the 32-year-old All-Star will inevitably be traded any day now.
According to sportswriter Frank Isola, the most recent spat between Oakley and the Knicks was sparked by the team's failure to include him any of the team's 70th anniversary celebrations.
"He wants to be connected to the franchise and the fan base that adores him. In the past he's tried to meet with Dolan to settle their differences but that hasn't happened," wrote Isola in the New York Daily News. "Two years ago, Phil Jackson talked to Oakley about working with the team's big men. Oakley was interested but the job fell through. Perhaps Dolan put the kibosh on that."
"This is how the Knicks treat their best players, both past and present," he added. "For nearly 20 years there have been plenty of dreadful and embarrassing nights at Madison Square Garden. Too many to count. This one tops them all."

Chelsea and Tottenham are the best- Man City's Pep Guardiola declares
Former Barca and Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has admitted that
rival clubs Chelsea and Tottenham are the best clubs in the league,
despite the transfer war chest he was given last summer to complete
deals for Saido Mane, Nolito, Gundogan, John Stones and Gabriel Jesus.
Guardiola, upon assumption of coaching duties at Man City following glorious reigns at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, enjoyed a ten game winning streak, but loses in recent matches have damaged his club's EPL title ambitions and the Spaniard has now admitted his team isnt the best anymore and he is to be blamed.
“Tottenham and Chelsea are the best, how they make the movements — especially Spurs with Dembele and Eriksen and how they move in respect to the others," he said to reporters.
"Both teams know exactly what they have to do and still we are not in that process. Our inconsistency is for that reason.
“I think we learned a lot. We improved a lot in the beginning, and then we stopped. "Maybe it looks like I’m being humble, or shy or something like that, but it was a little bit my mistake.
“I’m pretty sure we started really good in many, many things and now we stopped. You have to re-start that. Because our build-up is so fundamental in my vision of football.
“Sometimes we have to do more of the same thing, and when you do that a lot you have to change the variations. I believed we had it, but the players did not believe we had it.
“So I have to adapt to them. Sometimes, with all the games, you don’t have time but that’s why it’s nice.“If I had the feeling everybody is done, it would be boring. So when I see the games and see the review of the games I say, 'Wow, we still have a lot to do!’, and that’s why it’s nice.
“I still have the ambition — unfinished business. Still I have many many things to do and when we get it right it will be better definitely. Maybe we won’t fly but I am pretty sure we will be a better team.”
Jose Mourinho storms out of interview as he moans about preferential treatment of Klopp & Wenger

Jose Mourinho's anger was aimed at match referee Mike Jones over Hull's time-wasting tactics and refereeing decisions that didn't go Man U's way.
Mourinho stormed out of the TV interview at 88 seconds when asked to be specific about his complaints, telling the journalist 'If you don't know football, you shouldn't be with a microphone in your hand.'
'You know clearly that I am different. The rules for me are different. I am different in everything.'See the full transcript of his interview as shared by Dailymail U.K. :
'I (had to) watch my team play in a hotel, I was forbidden to go to the stadium, my assistant had a six-match stadium ban and he didn't touch anyone.'
(In reference to Wenger pushing a fourth official two weeks ago)
And in a thinly veiled swipe at Klopp he added: 'On Tuesday, one fourth official told a manager: "I enjoy very much your passion, so do what you want to do".
'Today I was told "sit down or I have to send you to the stands", so everything is different for me. Don't ask me questions that put me in a difficult situation.'
'If I speak I am punished. I don't want to be punished,' added Mourinho. 'I'm not happy with the result. I won't criticise the opponents because they are fighting for their lives. Every point for them is golden.
'They have to fight with everything they have. They tried to see what they were allowed to do. The referee gave the feedback. And then they were comfortable doing what they did for 90 minutes. I'm not critical of the opposition because they are fighting for their lives.
'If I was in your place I wouldn't ask the manager. I would just see and write what is my opinion. If I was on your side, I wouldn't be asking the United manager. Just write what is happening during almost every game with us.'
Interviewer: Overall impression of tonight's performance?
Jose Mourinho: We didn't score. You don't score, it's not possible to win.
Interviewer: Their keeper was in marvellous form when you did get through?
JM: Yeah their goalkeeper was good.
Interviewer: What do you think was missing from display tonight to create more chances?
JM: We needed to score, we needed more time to play. I think if we played 35-40 minutes in both halves, total of both halves, I think is a lot. I think Hull City they tried to see where they could go, the way they could behave, they try to see what the referee would allow them to do. They had their feedback, they were comfortable then to do what they did and I'm not a critic of that because they are in the position they are. They are fighting for relegation, every point for them is gold and I'm not critic with them.
Interviewer: What do you feel the referee should have pulled them up on?
JM: Well if you don't know football, you shouldn't be with a microphone in your hand. (storms off)

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho on

Wenger after watching his side being beaten 2-1 by Hull City in the
second leg semi-final match of the 2017 EFL Cup.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho
The
Red Devils conceded a penalty at the death as they lost 2-1 to Hull in
the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final at the KCOM Stadium, but
United advanced to the final 3-2 on aggregate where they will meet
Southampton in the final at Wembley on February 26, 2017.

"I just want to say congratulations to my players because it was a difficult game for us, and we are in the final.
"I
don't want to say anything else because it's enough. I'm calm, I
behaved on the bench, not sent off, no punishment, so no more words,'' Mourinho who celebrated his 54th birthday explained.

Pele gives his thoughts on the Messi vs Ronaldo debate

Pele
- Football legend Pele believes Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world right now
- The former Santos striker names 10 players in history who can be regarded as the best ever
- Pele believes it is bad only Ronaldo and Messi are regarded as the best players right now
Football legend Pele believes that Cristiano Ronaldo is the No 1 player in the world right now with Lionel Messi close behind.
Pele names 10 players he thinks are the greatest of all time; "George Best, Bobby Moore, Jairzinho, Bobby Charlton, Pele, Zico, Beckenbauer, Cruyff, Zidane, Maradona."
Speaking
to the Daily Mail UK, the three time World Cup winning striker thinks
it is bad for football that only two names are mentioned when the
world's best players are listed.
"Now you say Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi — Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi. It's not too good for football."
"At
the moment the best player in the world is Ronaldo. I admire him, if I
had to set up a national team he would be my first pick. But in the
meantime I feel sorry because today and the last five years, you just
mention two big stars. Some years ago, you had a lot of players."
He added: "Ronaldo reminds Pele of
Ronaldo — the Brazilian one. The one who terrified defenders with his
pace and aggression and relentless pursuit of goals. In the modern age,
everyone is obsessed with comparison."
Pele
who has been called the greatest of all time by some explains why he
cannot argue over who is the best of all time between himself and Diego
Maradona, another player called the greatest of all time by some.

Barcelona's Lionel Messi celebrates beside Cristiano Ronaldo during a recent El Clasico ga,e
"Maradona,
myself, it's a little bit different than him,' he explains. 'Cristiano
is higher up the pitch, more central, more direct, more for scoring.
"But what is important is he is a player who decides the game. He is a player who scores goals. That's the same.
"But we cannot compare Pele and
Maradona with Cristiano because we were players who came from behind. We
played deeper. He plays in front. He's more like (the Brazilian)
Ronaldo. This you can compare.
"It's the
same with Messi. They are two players with completely different styles.
Messi is playing more from midfield, he is an excellent player and
passer. But Ronaldo is more forward, the No 9, the striker. He has a
different style to Messi."
Messi and Ronaldo have shared the World Player of the Year title in its various forms for eight years, since Kaka won in 2007.
Ronaldo
is 31 and Messi 28, and their days at the top are numbered. Gareth
Bale, 26, and Neymar, 24, are believed by many as the best players after
them.
Just in: Suarez’ strike not enough as Barcelona lose two precious points at Betis
Spanish giants Barcelona have missed a
glorious chance to temporarily go top of the La Liga standings after
losing two precious points at Real Betis.
Luis Enrique’s men managed a last minute gasp to claim one point after their match against Real Betis ended 1 – 1.
Barcelona who were third on the log with 41 points would have gone straight to the summit of the standings with a win.
As
the game was heading for a goalless draw with a very stiff Betis
defense denying the experienced Barcelona attackers, Betis' Alexander Alegria shot his side into the lead with barely 15 minutes left to play.
The
highly entertaining fixture was filled with so much drama and
controversies but a spectacular one happened in the 81st minute when
what would have been an equalizer by the visitors was cleared off the
line by Alin Tosca.

Alin Tosca clears the ball from his own net
Camera replays showed the ball had crossed the line but the referee gave 'no goal'.
Betis’
Ruben Castro would have sealed the win for the home team in the 83rd
minute after he was left one-on-one against Barcelona goalkeeper
Marc-Andre ter Stegen who eventually blocked the shot to help his side
avoid defeat.
Barcelona’s persistence finally
paid off in the 90th minute when Luis Suarez scored to ensure his side
return home with some form of respect. It ended; Real Betis 1 – 1
Barcelona.
Barcelona now move to second spot, but on better goal difference with Sevilla who dropped to third on 42 points.
With
two games in hand, embattled Real Madrid who have lost form recently
remain on top of the log with 43 points. They face Real Sociedad on
Sunday night, January 29.

Serena beats Venus to win record 23rd Slam title
Serena Williams rewrote history Saturday to surpass Steffi Graf and capture a record 23rd Grand Slam title as well as the world number one ranking by beating her sister Venus in the Australian Open final.
The dominant American swept past her greatest rival 6-4, 6-4 on Rod Laver Arena for her seventh Melbourne Park crown to finally clinch the record for Open-era major titles, nearly 18 years after winning her first.
The 35-year-old, who equalled Graf’s mark of 22 at Wimbledon last year, now stands just one behind the all-time 24 won by Margaret Court, who was in the president’s box to witness Williams’ feat.
Her astonishing achievement also means she again becomes the world’s top-ranked player, ending the brief stay of Angelique Kerber who knocked Williams off the top after three-and-half years in September last year.
Fittingly, her sister and closest confidante Venus was on the other side of the net to share the moment, another chapter written in their long rivalry.
It was Venus — still a teenager with beads in her hair — who knocked Serena out in round two on her Grand Slam debut in Melbourne 19 years ago, and they have since played nine major finals together, living each other’s highs and lows.
At 36 and seeded 13, Venus had turned back the clock to make her first Grand Slam title match since Wimbledon in 2009, but adding to her seven major successes was not to be.
Showing the single-mindedness that has propelled her to greatness, a focused Serena, seeded two, overcame a scratchy and nervous start in which all four opening games were breaks and when she smashed a racquet in frustration.
But she soon settled to get a decisive break to go 4-3 in front with an unstoppable backhand, and served out the set with an ace.
Serena was fired up and after the first two games of the second set went to serve, she worked three break points in the third only for her sister to negotiate her way out of trouble with some big forehand winners.
The tense battle went with serve to 3-3 before Serena cranked up the pressure to break with a scintillating crosscourt backhand and take a 4-3 lead.
With history beckoning, she wasn’t about to throw it away and she served out the match, falling to the floor in celebration before a long embrace with Venus to share the biggest moment of her career.
