These teeny, tiny diapers serve a bigger purpose for premature babies

They might look more suitable for a Bitty Baby doll, but diaper brand Huggies' new Little Snugglers Nano Preemie diapers were actually created for the smallest and most fragile babies — infants born extremely prematurely who weigh less than two pounds or 900 grams.
According to a press release from Huggies, the miniature diapers were developed with input from neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) nurses and neonatal therapists and designed to protect the particularly delicate skin of premature babies.

"Good-fitting diapers are important to the healthy growth and development of our smallest patients," said Anjanette Lee, an infant development specialist at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston, Texas, in the press release. Lee's hospital was one of nine Level III and Level IV NICUs that tested the new diaper. "In our experience, we found Huggies Little Snugglers Nano Preemie Diapers conformed to the baby's bottom without gapping or limiting leg movement."

In addition to being tiny enough for the teeniest of baby bums, the new diapers feature specially-sized fasteners and narrow, absorbent pads to fit flexibly so that babies can be comfortably positioned in a fetal tuck, with arms and legs close to the body, Huggies explained, as preemies prefer.

Pastor caught with fetish objects having people's names on them (photos,video)

A pastor, Ebube Iyowa, has been mobbed and his house invaded after he was allegedly caught with fetish materials in his house in Iyowa in Ogbaru local government area of Anambra state on Wednesday, February 8.

He was arrested by security operatives after residents discovered idols and people's names found in his prayer house. He is said to always charge his clients between 20,000 to N1m for prayers.

CAN speaks on Buhari’s health, tells Osinbajo what to do

The CAN on Thursday, February 9, said it is deeply concerned about the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari due to his health condition.

Speaking on the ongoing controversy surrounding President Buhari’s health status, the CAN called on all Nigerians to join hands in prayers for the quick and full recovery of the president.

A statement signed by the director of legal and public affairs Kwamkur Samuel urged Nigerians to also pray for the safe return of Presidnet Buhari.

Kwamkur cautioned Nigerians on dwelling on ‘needless’ rumour mongering over the president’s health.

He said: “President Muhammadu Buhari is human, hence subject to health challenges sometimes. CAN appreciates the anxiety of Nigerians to hear Mr. President speak, but sues for understanding as we await that. It is very clear that our leader is passing through health challenges.”

Kwamkur however advised the presidency to update Nigerians on the health status of the president and the full progress of his recovery.

“We call on all Christians and indeed all God-fearing Nigerians to dedicate time of prayers for our President and the nation. We owe our leaders prayers and support at all times while shunning divisive opinions that only generate strive,” Kwamkur said.

The Christian association further called for total support for the acting president Yemi Osinbajo from Nigerians while asking him to be bold in handling critical state affairs.

He said: “We acknowledge that government is a continuum, hence, we call on Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to be bold in handling critical state matters and not to be distracted by those who do not wish Nigeria well. God bless Nigeria!”

Pastor Emmanuel Makandiwa, founder of the UFIC church in Zimbabwe, has introduced a minimum amount that every congregant must pay to remain in his church.

He has further warned that those who disagree or fail to comply with his stipulation should leave his church, as they have lost the right to contact God, presumably through him.

Pastor Makandiwa's insistence on financial payments has however drawn the ire of the public in Zimbabwe, with many questioning where Makandiwa expects his congregants to get the money from given the dire economic situation in that country.

A 62-year old woman from Cape Town, in South Africa, is charging her son’s ex-girlfriend for harassment, after she kept sending him sending sexually explicit pictures to his phone.

Jennifer Adams says her son, called Emile, broke up with the 33-year-old woman from Mitchells Plain three months ago. Nevertheless, she started messaging him with pornographic photos.

Emile and his former girlfriend, Kashiefa Davids, have a six-month-old baby together. Adams claims has not been able to see her grandchild, because they ended their relationship in an unfriendly manner.

The grandmother says that “she is a Muslim woman and for her to act this way is outrageous. She started threatening him and harassing him.” The picture that has been released to the public shows a woman’s naked back, laying against a giant man’s member.

Davids also accuses Emile of not paying child maintenance in another text, and uses the third person when talking about herself. “When she needs you, you not there, don’t give a s***. Kashiefa is done with you,” one message read.

Adams laments that her son “has to go on her Facebook page if he wants to see pictures of his daughter." Davids denied all the allegations, including texting explicit images. “I don’t even know when last I spoke to him,” she says.

Police reported that although a charge was laid, there have been no arrests yet.

According to a Facebook user, Utibe Micheal, the principal of a Christian secondary commercial school at Obio, Imo state, brutally beat her brother because he did not show up at school without finding out the reason the boy was absent.

The user wrote: “Imagine what the principal of christian secondary commercial school at obio imo did to my brother's back because he couldn't make it to school. The man didn't even bother to find out if d boy was sick or didn't have transport.”

A scientific study has found out that the human touch is capable of reducing stress and building trust between people.

To prove the study Cut.com decided to conduct an experiment in which people of all ages and genders would strip down and make skin contact with strangers and try to see if this would make them more trusting towards each other.

The test subjects’ reactions were very different when they were asked to remove their clothing, however soon they realized that they were communicating very easily with each other.

They were soon freely sharing what many might consider as private information between each other like childhood stories and what their greatest fears are.

Everybody that participated in the experiment said they found it fun

Everybody who participated in the test stated that they enjoyed it and shared plenty of laughs.

One of them said: “From an outsider, you would feel it would be a lot more awkward, but I feel like the presence of oxytocin due to the skin-to-skin contact induces a higher state of trust thus making it easier to converse than if we were just sitting on opposite sides of the couch.”

A 42-year-old British woman who had a tumor inside her stomach for ten years, has published some viral before-and-after photos.

Maria Christofi looked pregnant all this time, but it was only when the tumor got so big it was testing her self-confidence that she decided to surgically remove it. She said: “It had begun affecting my day to day life."

Christofi was diagnosed in 2007 with a fibroid, which is considered a benign tumor. At first, she experimented with natural alternatives to surgery, such as herbal medicines, acupuncture and exercises, although these methods only helped with relieving pain, the problem was still there.

About a year ago, the tumor grew to such a size of about 17 cm that she looked 28-weeks pregnant. People on the streets started assuming she was about to give birth, so she even made up a due date, in order to avoid further questioning.

An acupuncturist finally removed the large mass last month, and the result is amazing!

Now that Christofi is free from the fibroid, she is more optimistic about the future. For instance, she was unable to have children, but now that dream could come true.

Christofi says she is very happy to have had the surgery, and is now more optimistic about the future.

Around one in three women develop fibroids, mostly between the ages of 30 and 50. They often come with heavy or painful periods, and they can lead to anemia.

Fibroids also cause pain in the abdomen lower back and legs, apart from bloating. Other symptoms are frequent urination, constipation, as well as pain or discomfort during intercourse.

Is India running out of Good Samaritans, or it's just unreasonable fear of the authorities? The untimely death of Anwar Ali, 17, from Koppal district of Karnataka state seems to suggest so.

According to the area police, Ali was riding his bicycle to work when he was hit by a state transport bus. But instead of rushing him to hospital, witnesses and passersby ignored his pleas for help, even as he oozed blood.

Ali was finally taken to hospital, but it was too late and he died while being treatment.

The teenage boy rolled on the road, in pain, bleeding, and frantically pleading for help, as bystanders filmed him on their phones. Doctors now say Ali could have survived if he had received urgent medical attention.

Ali died while in hospital. His cousin Riyaz blames those who could have helped but did nothing.

The ugly incident sparked anger and uproar across the country and online, with everyone else lashing out at those who were at the accident scene, not so much because they did nothing to help Ali, but rather because of filming him under such circumstances.

Though the teenager, a tile shop worker, did eventually receive medical attention, it was too late and he died at the hospital.

"It was in-humane, cold, and cruel," says Riyaz, Ali's cousin. ""He could have been saved if he had been brought to the hospital urgently. But what did people do? They were busy filming and capturing his photos on their phones."

Earlier on, prior to this incident, Karnataka government had signed into law the Good Samaritan Act in attempts to encourage people to be their brothers' (and sisters') keepers.

The Act was introduced in the wake of a growing perception that in India, people no longer care to help those who are in desperate need for urgent help, especially in cases of accidents. It is being alleged that they are afraid of being ordered to become witnesses or prosecuted for crimes they did not commit.
